Good day! Today the temperature was closer to twenty degrees so it was time to leave the house and actually go downtown. I always like to go to the UNESCO's world heritage site "Sjøgata" street or Sjøgato like the locals call it.
The houses in this street date back from around year 1800 and altogether are Northern Norway's biggest compound of old wood houses.
Today's walk started off at one end of the Sjøgata street, where the Fru Haugans hotel has been a landmark in Mosjøen since its foundation in 1794. The beautiful hotel and its gardens overlook at the impressive Øyfjellet - Mosjøen's iconic mountain - which reaches 818 meters over the sea level.
We had coffee and cake in the garden, while Leander sat in his stroller and babbled happily.
The hotel also serves as the landing site for Mosjøen's zipline, which is 700 meters long and starts at the Øyfjellet crossing the fjord and lands at the hotel's garden.
Here we left the hotel and started our walk up the Sjøgata street, snapping pictures of the old houses and the charming little coffee shops.
The rooster, which prides the city's emblem, is to be seen quite often in the streets of Mosjøen.
