You read it right. Since Monday we don't have running water in the house because either the water in the pipes is frozen or the pipe is broken. Due to climate conditions, in Norway it can happen that the water freezes inside the pipes. Usually the plumber will be able to fix this issue by either using steam or electricity to melt the frozen water, but neither of our two plumbers could seem to fix the issue on Monday - after 9 hours of trying.
Living without water in the house is difficult. We have water in a 25 liter tank that a friend of Rune lent us. Yesterday evening we also borrowed his shower, which we are very grateful for. However we cannot live borrowing water and showers from friends, so we've been offered to borrow an apartment instead. The parents of one of Rune's closest friends have an apartment here that they use when they visit, but otherwise it's empty. The apartment is completely furbished, has TV and Internet... and water! We are extremely thankful that they offered their apartment.
The plan now is to be there in the evenings, sleep there, and after breakfast take Leander to daycare and be at our own house as a home office, and then pick up Leander and go to the apartment for dinner and sleep. So we are going to be slightly "nomads" for a little bit.
So far we don't know how long it will take to fix our pipe issue, as it seems like the town hall is now involved in this. As you know when bureaucrats enter the room, everything slows down because of paperwork and stuff. So we don't know when we'll have water back home.
